9th Aug 2009

Went early this morning to serve God. heehee though yesterday was a very tiring day. i'm still able to wake up on time and arrive at Suntec on time.

Think currently is just training on how to do certain stuff. this week i was taught how to set up the stands for mic, music instruments and music scores. after that, we were given breakfast as well as reimbursement for the taxi fare this morning.

Romans 7
1Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

2For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

3So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

4Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God

When God requires us to do anything, he will first provide us the strength and material so that we may do so. But God's Law is unbreakable and unyielding. How can the Word of God, the very Word that create the Universe, be weak and flexible?

So how will we break free from the Law in order to go to the Grace of God? When we are married, only when the husband dies, then the wife can be free from the law that bounds her to him. But God's Word cannot die, it will not bend, it is unbreakable.

God provides for our death, through the death of Jesus.

Sandals -
In the book of Ruth, there was a procedure where the closer relative gave up his right to marry Ruth. Now in earlier times in Israel, for the redemption and transfer of property to become final, one party took off his sandal and gave it to the other. This was the method of legalizing transactions in Israel.

With his sandals on, Law has the right to step all over his wife. by removing it, he gave up his right.

When Moses approached God, he was made to take off his sandal as he has no right to be standing.

When the Prodigal son returned, his father put sandals on him.

God has put sandals on me, so that i may trample all over life. Amen!
